The incidents of robbery and snatching at gunpoint showed an upward trend during the last week wherein citizens lost valuables worth million of rupees. According to data gathered by Business Recorder, over three cases of auto theft and two cases each of murder and kidnapping were reported to different police stations of the city last week.

The most favourite areas for the criminal gangs were the limits of Lohi Bher, Bhara Kahu and Karachi Company police stations during the aforementioned period.

During the last week Lohi Bher police station registered two cases of murder, two cases of robbery and one case of kidnapping. Mirza Abdul Majeed filed a complaint with Lohi Bher police station that his son Chen Zaib was killed by unknown persons at Jinnah Garden.

Another Muzaffar Zaib informed Lohi Bher police station that unknown persons stole cash, an LCD and other valuables of Rs 900,00 from his snooker club. Maher Ahmed filed a complaint with Lohi Bher police station that some identified persons stole his buffaloes worth Rs 1,500,000.

Similarly, Muhammad Naeem informed Lohi Bher police station that his brother Umer Raza was killed by unknown person and his dead body was recovered from a car bearing registration number AEC-526. Riffat Abbasi lodged a complaint with Lohi Bher police station that accused Ibrahim Noor has kidnapped his daughter.

During the last week Bhara Kahu police station registered two cases of robbery and one case of kidnapping. Rashid Hussain lodged a complaint with Bhara Kahu police station that unknown robbers stole gold ornaments and other valuables worth Rs 2,800,000 from his house.

Jahan Najma informed Bhara Kahu police station that unknown persons kidnapped his son Asim Kareem. Tariq Mehmood lodged a complaint with Bhara Kahu police station that unknown accused stole 900 feet wire from his shop.

During the period under review, Karachi Company police station registered one case of snatching at gunpoint. Rahmi Baig informed Karachi Company police station that accused Asadullah snatched bag from his wife containing $4,000. Naeem Shehzad lodged a complaint with Karachi Company police station that two armed persons riding a bike snatched cash, a mobile phone and other valuables from him.

During the last week, Aabpara and Secretariat police stations registered one case each of auto theft while Industrial Area, Sabzi Mandi, Golra and Sihala police stations registered one case each of robbery.
